Sometimes things don't exactly go as planned. And then you have to ask yourself, do you bemoan the loss of what you had wanted? Or do you go with the flow and try to look on the bright side? With the fabulous Balakrishna gang in town for just two short days, we tried to motivate the whole gaggle for a whirlwind tour of Paris. But my dear and beloved boys had to be dragged from the house kicking and screaming and only when promised "a movie" did we manage to lure them to the metro. But when said "movie" turned out to be about the history of Paris (and in French with hard-to-understand dubbing in English), they put their collective foot down and said, "No more, we are going home." I was furious. At first. And then I decided that if you can't beat 'em (literally and figuratively) then join 'em. So we headed home, bought French Tom and Jerry comics from the newsstand, and grabbed lunch at a brasserie near our apartment. Now boys are playing happily together (more legos), and I am sipping coffee and catching up on the ol' blog. Would I be happier wandering around the Marais and eating falafel with the rest of the party? Yes. But who can stay angry at these little munchkins? Sometimes you gotta just go with the flow...
